PCD-, CBN- and diamond-coated end mills show their optimum potential when machining non-ferrous materials, castings and special materials. Particularly the CBN mini- and micro ball nose end mills with shank tolerances h4 can be used for hard machining up to 66 HRC. Diamond coated ball nose and torus end mills are recommended for the machining of graphite. Diamond coated end mills are available in the diameter range D=0,5 – 20mm, PCD end mills from D=4 to 20mm and CBN end mills from D=0,3-12mm. All PCD-, CBN- and diamond coated tools are available as end mills , ball nose and torus milling cutters.
